Based outside of Savannah Georgia, Genevieve Edwards was given the opportunity to bring her horse-crazy childhood dream to life by designing and building her facility Echelon Sporthorses LLC from the ground up. An empty field was quickly transformed into one of the top training programs in the Southeast with nationally ranked horses and riders in just a few short years.
Genevieve’s training style effectively places her knowledge and experience into the hands of her students. She offers an energetic, encouraging, and positive perspective in her program, which translates into motivation and progression for both her students and horses. Students walk away with a newfound confidence in their abilities, and horses are always eager for their next session!
Genevieve’s true talent lies with the careful development of young horses. Her patient system of training, which is highly focused on developing correct and strong horses through groundwork, educated flatwork, and conditioning has resulted in much success with young horses in both the hunter and jumper rings at the largest shows. She has an astute feel for soundness and physical problems with horses, and with her support team develops precise plans to help each horse overcome their limitations and become the best they can be, most times surpassing all expectations!
Genevieve prides herself on her work ethic and tireless desire to improve in every which way possible. She continues to lesson and clinic with top level trainers and riders to keep herself, her horses, and of course her students sharp and at the top of their game.
Pictures are all Vantablack de Muze, 2011 BWP gelding. She imported him as a green broke coming 4 year old and has been developing him herself through the YJC levels. They are jumping tons of clean rounds gearing up towards 7 yr old finals this year with the Grand Prix ring following up quickly on the horizon.
