Excel Supplements Canada: Challenges to Triumph in Heather Lippert’s Journey

 For the love of horses

As long as there has been Excel Supplements there has been Heather Lippert and Howe Eco Acres.    At the very beginning I received a call with the caller ID showing it was from Canada.   I almost didn’t take it but something made me change my mind. It was a LONG phone conversation that would forever impact Excel Supplements and start Excel Canada.

How the Struggles of a Curly Foal started Excel Supplements Canada

Heather found herself searching the internet for something that would help her foal.  This is how she stumbled across Excel Supplements.   Described as “ugly” at first with orange skin and patchy hair, the foal struggled from the very beginning.  “Curly” also suffered from constant abscesses in his hooves as well as along his jaw line. The vet visits were frequent, but answers were few. Yet, Heather never gave up on him and finding a solution.

Excel Supplements to the rescue for this Curley

Curly horses, are a breed known for their intelligence, unique curly coats, and sometimes quirky health traits. This little foal, born bald and frail, embodied both the challenges and beauty of the breed. He was later found to carry the “baldy curly” gene, which contributed to his initial patchy coat and health issues.

Camelina Oil: A Lifesaver

After that long phone call and the first bottle of our camelina oil (aka “the good shit”) on the way, her hopes were renewed.  As soon as it arrived Heather began incorporating ExcelEQ into “Curlys” diet every day and  slowly but surely, the results became evident. The foal grew a proper coat, his skin started changing from the orange tint to a normal color and his health improved significantly over the year to follow.  Without a shadow of a doubt the immune system boost he received from ExcelEQ, helped this guys recovery. It was during the many conversations with Heather that ExcelRescue was born.  It was clear that we needed something other than just the oil to rub on sores or patches of skin.

Miss EQ: A Special Success Story for Excel Supplements Canada

We simply can’t leave out the story of “Miss EQ.”   Her name says it all.  A sister to “Curly,” this little filly as born as a dummy foal.    Even though she seemed normal when she was born and first got up, Heather knew she was in trouble when she found the little girl wedged behind some hay bales the next morning, and the mare standing there leaking all of her colostrum on the ground.    She called the vet right away.   After seeing the results of the immunoglobulin blood test the vet gave the filly very little chance of survival.

The vet sedated the mare so Heather could milk her and try to save what little colostrum was left.   She spent the next 4 days feed the little filly every hour and adding just a little bit of ExcelEQ to every feeding as she knew it would give her immune system the kick start it needed.  She had nothing to lose and everything to gain.    Little Miss EQ not only had normal levels 3 weeks later when they did another immunoglobulin test, but she also went on to grow into the most beautiful big stout mare that now belongs to a little girl.

Excel Supplements Canada was born

Aside from the instant connection after that initial phone call it was clear to both Heather and I that we needed to work together.   After about a year long process of getting Excel Supplements approved to be imported to Canada we were ready to roll.   It started as a virtual hand shake over the phone and has turned into not just a thriving business in Canada but more importantly a friendship that I am forever thankful for.    Heather and I could literally sit down and write a book about all the different success stories that our products have brought, not only in Canada but also in the US.   It is all of those stories that is the driving force behind Excel Supplements!

Heather is gonna strangle me for adding this picture to this story but it’s so worth it.  After that initial virtual hand shake I finally had the chance to make my way up to Howe Island, 11 years later, for an actual hand shake and hug.
