Evanescent Mustang Rescue: Saving Lives, One Mustang at a Time

Rescue of Paint Horse Blue and Aurora
In August 2015, Evanescent Mustang Rescue made a significant impact by rescuing Blue, a 12-year-old Paint Horse, and Aurora, a 4-month-old foal, from the Kaufman, Texas kill pen. This pivotal rescue marked the beginning of our mission to provide safe havens for Mustangs and Burros in need.
Our Journey and Achievements
Evanescent Mustang Rescue & Sanctuary officially became a 501(c)(3) charitable organization on March 30, 2017. Our first Mustang rescue under this status was Lakota, who found a new lease on life thanks to our dedicated team. Since then, our sanctuary has expanded to include 15 acres of lush pasture and hay fields, a dedicated quarantine area, and a paddock for new arrivals. We are fortunate to have a network of reliable foster homes across the United States, enabling us to rescue and rehabilitate over 600 Mustangs and Burros.
Feature Highlights
Our commitment to Mustang rescue has been recognized in various media outlets, including a recent feature in the New York Times and numerous updates on our Facebook page. These platforms highlight the incredible stories of the horses we save and the ongoing need for support.
Meet Sarge
In January 2017, we rescued Sarge from a kill lot in Oklahoma. His brand indicates he was born in 2002, and his rescue is a testament to the critical work we do.
